team leadership and management a of 10 international and national
consultants within the “National Directorate for Agricultural
Engineering” for pre-feasibility studies of 4 medium scale irrigation
projects in three different administrative regions of the country and for
the detail feasibility study of the most promising site (300 ha in central
highlands region of Fouta-Djallon). The
end of this consultancy is scheduled for June 30th 2002.
This assignment includes an important on-the-job training component
for the national counterparts (introducing DGPS surveying methods,
computerized data and map processing and computer assisted engineering).

between farmers, governmental agencies and fertilizer suppliers. Training of farmers to obey the rules of new government

Short-term support missions to the “North Bali Groundwater Irrigation
and Water Supply Project”: in charge of organizing and strengthening
technically and administratively the water users groups for small-scale
village groundwater irrigation. Writing

new farmers groups. This work
was carried out through training Indonesian technicians on CAD (Computer
Assisted Design) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) adapted to
support management decisions in small irrigation systems. Financed by the
