- Haiti: Formulation study for the rehabilitation of 2.000 ha of small irrigation schemes in the Gonaives area devastated by hurricane Jane in September 2004.  My duties cover hydraulic infrastructures and protection works of Gonaives city against river floods.  Financed by the FAO “Investment Center” in Rome.

2004

- Guinea-Conakry: Engineering on a shrimp farm in Koba (land survey and bathymetry with DGPS); agricultural impact evaluation of relocating rural population in Sangaredi area before the installation of a new alumina production unit.  Private investment by SNC-Lavalin International, Montreal.

- Honduras: Feasibility study for the development of 2.000 ha with irrigation in the Sulaco valley in central Honduras.  Management of a group of 20 specialists in administrative, financial and technical aspects.  Production of diagnostic, project formulation with preliminary design and environmental impact assessment reports.  Financed by AIDB, (SNC-Lavalin International, Montréal).

2002-03

- USA - Connecticut: High class golf course construction (36 holes); general management, in charge of human resources (50 people), procurement, subcontracting works, schedule control, site safety, environmental control, coordination with other contractors, cost and budget monitoring, etc.  Private Corporation NMP Golf Construction.  Financed by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.

2001-02

- Guinea-Conakry:  team leadership and management a of 10 international and national consultants within the “National Directorate for Agricultural Engineering” for pre-feasibility studies of 4 medium scale irrigation projects in three different administrative regions of the country and for the detail feasibility study of the most promising site (300 ha in central highlands region of Fouta-Djallon).  The end of this consultancy is scheduled for June 30th 2002.  This assignment includes an important on-the-job training component for the national counterparts (introducing DGPS surveying methods, computerized data and map processing and computer assisted engineering).  Financed by AfDB. (SNC-Lavalin International, Montréal).

99-2000

- Canada - USA:  Consultant to the management team of two private construction corporations (golf course builders):  participation to the computerization of their general project management.  Customization of a specialized software for bidding and scheduling construction works allowing subsequent cost control for each construction site.  Standardization of technical procedures for take-off (use of software for 3D earthworks estimates), linkage with CAD software.  Participation in staff training for the implementation of those technological changes.  Part of work on construction sites.  (NMP Golf Construction Corp.)

1999

- Benin (West Africa): participation to the “Study for planning the improvement of Southern Benin continental lakes and waters”.  My charges consisted in assessing the physical and social infrastructures needs (with mapping) of the lakeside and riverside fisherman population to identify opportunities to relocate them in agricultural activities due to the decline in traditional fisheries. Financed by AfDB.  (Roche International Quebec).

 

- Dominican Republic: water resources and drainage needs assessment for a golf course construction company.  (NMP Golf Construction Inc.)

1998

- Quebec: Advisor for reducing soil and water contamination by agricultural activities in Quebec province.  In charge of preparing agro-environmental fertilization recommendations for large dairy, hog and other livestock farms to conform them to the latest government environmental regulations and coordinating the negotiations between farmers, governmental agencies and fertilizer suppliers.  Training of farmers to obey the rules of new government farming standards.  Club Agro-Environnemental à St-Hyacinthe.

 

- Indonesia: Short-term support missions to the “North Bali Groundwater Irrigation and Water Supply Project”: in charge of organizing and strengthening technically and administratively the water users groups for small-scale village groundwater irrigation.  Writing design, operation and maintenance guidelines to extend tested systems to new farmers groups.  This work was carried out through training Indonesian technicians on CAD (Computer Assisted Design) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) adapted to support management decisions in small irrigation systems. Financed by the Commission of the European Union. s.a. AGRER n.v., Brussels.
